What is Lull? Lull is an upcoming tinnitus sleep sounds app for Android, for people whose tinnitus makes it hard to sleep: it plays sleep sounds tuned to the pitch of your ringing and keeps a short daily diary, so it bothers you less at night. It is a wellness app, not a medical device.

What Lull will do

Four things, all already working in the app we are testing.

Find your tone

Match the pitch of your ringing with headphones, so the sounds fit it. It is not a hearing test.

Sleep sounds tuned to you

Layer sounds like rain and brown noise, tuned to your pitch. A timer fades them out, or let them play all night.

A 15-second check-in

How loud, how bothered, how you slept. It stays on your phone.

Your patterns

After 14 check-ins, see what tends to go with your worse days, like short nights. Patterns, not causes.

You are not the only one awake

~14%

of adults live with tinnitus, more than 740 million people worldwide; for about 2% it is severe.[1] Research suggests a talking therapy (CBT) may ease how much tinnitus bothers people, though the evidence is low-certainty;[2] Lull uses sound only for comfort at night.

Questions

When does Lull launch?

There is no date yet. Lull is in testing; leave your email and we will write once, the day it is on Google Play.

Will Lull stop my tinnitus?

No. Lull can’t make tinnitus go away, and no app can. It helps you sleep with sounds you like and understand your own patterns, so the ringing bothers you less.

Is it free?

Yes. Lull is free.

Is my diary private?

Your check-ins are stored on your phone, not on our servers.

Lull is a wellness app, not a medical device. It doesn’t diagnose or treat tinnitus, and it isn’t a substitute for a doctor or audiologist. If something worries you, talk to your doctor.
